chase your dream

The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.” – Chauncey Depew

A few days ago, I was surfing the internet to get anything that might interest me. Within the space of few minutes, I bumped into one video, where some group of emerging entrepreneurs in Africa is holding an interview with the richest man in Africa, Aliko Dangote, in his personal office. I was excited to see that on his table, there is an inscription that: “Nothing is impossible.”

If an achiever like Dangote is a firm believer of this principle of success, and despite the achievements he had garnered an enormous wealth within his disposals, he still seizes the power of this belief, then it is a necessity for us all to also cultivate this principle as it has shown that it is not only the pathway for success but the reservoir, where purpose emanates.

To begin to think with purpose is to enter the ranks of those strong ones who only recognize failure as one of the pathways to attainment,” says James Allen. This corroborates that majority of what is being manifested in our lives is a result of what we believe about them. To believe stems from something to act on. To believe is to have a glimpse of what you think. To act is to have a grasp of what your belief holds.

A person of purpose regardless of what he is going through will know deep down within himself that he can still make the best out of his life; he can still use what he is going through to shape the world he desires, he will realize that he is a deposit of riches and if he holds on, nothing will be impossible for him.

Suleiman Olanrewaju concludes that: “The best form of motivation is the one that comes from within.”

For you to see yourself in the frame you have pictured, you have to teach your mind and feed it on how to feature in positive cynosure. This is one of the reasons why successful people, notably Dangote, can’t cease from counting successes. They always make sure that their subconscious and conscious minds are seeing things more than how they are appearing. They do what James Allen describes as “a man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thought.”

The world has been lived by many. But those few that have shaped it are those who see the world beyond its direct appearance. They believe that as long as they keep oiling their thoughts and greasing their actions, the world would hand them what they are not physically holding.

My brother is always amused and he doesn’t hide his amazement for the mystery surrounding the ingenuity of Dangote. He would say: “I don’t know how he is making it. I hardly see the advert of his company.” What I discover about him is that he believes he is supplying himself with the right perceptions, and he never entertains any negative impression.

That is why he is swimming why others are sinking. He had identified what he is called for and he knows he needs to be nourishing himself with positive perceptions for him to be breaking grounds. He earns accolades everywhere; even where authorities are reluctant to tread because of their insincerity and the risks they perceived about it – the Nigerian government can’t repair the nation’s refineries, but Dangote is constructing his own from the scratch!

This is what Roger Banister understands when he was alive. He realized he has to do something that has never been done and he knew the thing is possible. He trained hard to prepare himself, and in 1953 in the Olympic games in Helsinki, Finland, he broke the record of becoming the first person to finish 1,500 miles in the space of four minutes. It is possible. It was because Neil Armstrong believed in this principle, he landed on the moon on the 20th of July 1969. Steve Jobs changed the ways we communicate because he believed it is possible.

“What distinguishes winners from losers, says Bob Butera, “is that winners concentrate at all times on what they can do, not what they can’t do.” You can do it. It is never impossible for you not to birth traction that pumps in your mind, you can only be scared of creating the waves needed for your traction to flourish. The creative spirit never thrives in an atmosphere of doubt. Nothing great has ever been achieved in an atmosphere of stifling doubt,” Tope Popoola remarks.

Did you have anything you have created in your mind but think it is not possible? Vanish that thought and conquer the fear. Chase your dream. Unleash your potential. For what you have picture may never come to you if it is not planted in you. Create fertile ground for it to grow. That ladder is not too tall for you to climb. Don’t wait for the ladder to stop being shaking by storm: position the ladder where it would be immune to storm because that’s where only you can climb it to your peak, that is where unlimited possibility evolves!
